Visa Applications From New Delhi Reach 80% Of The Pre-Pandemic Levels In 2022

With the international borders opening up and easing up of the pandemic restrictions, the world is now open to travel. People are making the most of this post-pandemic time and exploring the world. Well, in fact, Indians are super keen to explore the world as well. This can be seen in a report that states that visa applications from New Delhi in 2022 have reached 80 per cent of the pre-pandemic levels.

Visa Applications From New Delhi Touch Pre-COVID Numbers

A report by VFS Global states that the number of visa applications in 2022 that came in from New Delhi has reached 80% of the pre-pandemic levels of 2019. The applications saw a 93 per cent growth in 2022 as compared to 2021.

This upward tendency in visa application volumes is consistent with India‘s overall growth, which was also nearly 80% of pre-pandemic levels last year.

Prabuddha Sen, Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, VFS Global, said that they saw an unusual demand from India, which extended the outbound travel season. He also mentioned that this came in consistent volume until December.

Prabuddha is confident that this momentum will grow and hence advises people to apply for their visas well in advance to avoid the last-minute hassle.

People Are Opting For Personalised Services

The report by VFS Global mentioned that another trend noticed in terms of the behaviour of travellers is personalised service. These visa applications and other services had begun since the pandemic.

Visa at Your Doorstep (VAYD), one of the premium optional services provided, has also seen a 90 per cent year-on-year rise. This service enables travellers to book an entire visa experience at any location they wish.

One of the key determining factors during the post-pandemic times is health considerations. This is the reason why people prefer opting for such personalised services which lead to safe travel and a hassle-free travel experience.
