Shiva devotees are all set to celebrate Mahashivratri on March 8. Celebrating the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, this is one of the biggest festivals in the country. This time, however, the celebration doesn’t seem to be limited to India. In a video shared by Sadhguru on social media, New York’s Times Square was recently lit up with videos of Adiyogi to celebrate Mahashivratri. What followed was simply a spectacular sight! People stopped, danced, sang, and chanted the deity’s name in full vigour.

Flash mobs at New York’s Times Square aren’t an unusual sight. What you don’t expect, however, is New Yorkers breaking into a dance on the beats of ‘Har Har Mahadev’. In a video shared online by Sadhguru, you can see the big screens on Times Square displaying the details about the ‘Mahashivratri with Sadhguru’ programme happening on March 8. The images of Adiyogi then lit up the screen and ‘Har Har Mahadev’ music followed in the background.

The atmosphere around Times Square then changed as people broke into a dance. People from all walks of life were seen grooving to the music while many stopped to see the spectacular sight. Chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’, ‘Shiva’, and ‘Shambho’ were heard all over Times Square, as per people present there. According to Sadhguru, people around the world are “realising the significance of the Great Night of Shiva.”
