According to an article which was recently published by One India, the campaign “Fair Visa, Fair Chance” is by the National Indian Student and Alumni Union or NISAU. It is one of the most renowned Student Groups in the UK.

James Cleverly, who is the Home Secretary of the UK has commissioned a Migration Advisory Committee or MAC. The purpose of this committee is to re-evaluate the Graduate Route Visa and to ensure that it is fit for its intended purpose.

They are supposed to submit their report by the end of this month. This has raised concerns regarding the reversal of all the benefits that Indian students have received. Hence, the campaign was launched to demonstrate support.

Lord Karan Billimoria, who is a patron of NISAU and co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group or APPG, has also voiced his support for the campaign. As per his statement cited in a Firstpost article, he said that if the graduate route is curtailed, then Britain would be shooting itself in the foot.

NISAU UK has been invited to present its own research to the MAC in order to allow them a fair chance to present their side of the argument. The Firstpost article also mentioned that Indian students were already beginning to be turned off from UK Universities and this move would only worsen that.
