Swiggy and Zomato have become an integral part of our lives at this point. In the case of those of us who stay alone and are too tired to cook, we try to find something on these platforms to order. Or at the times when mom made some tinda or bhindi, these delivery platforms come to our rescue. Though we are well aware of the amount of money spent on ordering food from outside, we cannot help ourselves. Now, introducing “Open Network for Digital Commerce” (ONDC), a platform all set to give neck-to-neck competition to other delivery platforms.

Here’s All You Need To Know About ONDC

Acronym for Open Network for Digital Commerce, the ONDC is a delivery platform curated by the Indian government. It has been in action since September 2022 but it began to rise to fame only at the present time. Bengaluru began the services of this platform back in September last year. Now, the number of users is exponentially increasing, crossing a landmark of 10,000 orders every day, according to a report by India Today.

We have been using several third-party platforms such as Swiggy and Zomato while placing orders these days. But from now onwards, we can choose to directly get our orders from the restaurants using ONDC. You can also use this platform to order various products such as groceries and more to be delivered to your doorstep.

Is This Platform Affordable Than Swiggy & Zomato?

Many people took to social media to share their experiences of using ONDC. They have noticed significant changes in the total amount and it is lesser than what they pay using Swiggy and Zomato. Presently, ONDC is cheaper than all such delivery third-party delivery apps.

Using ONDC is pretty simple.

  • Open Paytm and search ONDC.
  • You will find several options for placing orders, be it for food, groceries, and more.
  • If you want to order some food items, type ONDC Food and choose your preferred restaurants and dishes.
  • And it takes just a few minutes for all these steps.
