World’s Highest Post Office In Himachal’s Spiti Gets A Cute Letterbox-Shaped Office

You all must have heard about the Spiti valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is famous all for its cultural heritage and beautiful sceneries around. The place is also famous for being home to the highest post office in the world in Hikkim. Now, this famous post office has been revamped and given a new look. The post office turns into a cute letter-box-shaped office and it looks simply amazing.

A Letter-box-Shaped Post Office

The world’s highest post office is located in the Hikkim village of the Spiti Valley had been operating from a very old building since 1983. . It was already an attraction as it holds the name of being the world’s highest office. It is at the height of 14,567 feet above sea level and hence is said to be located at the highest point. As it is one of the most important places and was in ina state of disrepair, the department decided to construct a new one. Vandita Kaul, Chief Post Master General, Himachal Circle inaugurated this new letter box-shaped office and the guest of honour was while Assistant Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma.

Drawing More Tourists

The letter box-shaped post office aims at drawing more tourists and has already become a must-visit destination in Spiti. Tourists visiting the place can send letters and colourful postcards anywhere to their near and dear ones easily and the letter will have a message stating that this has been sent from the world’s highest post office. There are also many selfie points developed outside it.
