World’s Longest Water Slide To Open In Malaysia This August

Are you an adventure junkie? If you are, then this 1,140 meters long water slide will give you chills! The ride is in Malaysia’s ESCAPE Theme Park and is known to set the Guinness World Record for the World’s longest slide. The slide extends down a 70m slope, taking riders through a jungle scenery. How thrilling is that?

What’s It?

Love thrill and adventure? Then, you need to head to Malaysia! The world’s longest water slide is all set to open in Malaysia this summer.

The 1,140 meters (3,740 feet) at Penang’s ESCAPE Theme Park is in the last phase of construction. Once completed, the slide is will be the longest water slide in the world, leaving behind the previous one at Action Park in New Jersey, which measures 602 metres.

Sim Choo Kheng, CEO Sim Leisure Group which runs the Escape park, said: “Our plan was to build a water slide which would enable visitors to view the whole park and we did not intend to break the world record. I’m overly concerned about the environment here so we tried our best to maintain the greenery by not chopping down the trees. We reckon the slide will be the main attraction when completed.”

As for the slide’s route, the four-minute ride will take thrill seekers down a 230ft (70-metre) slope set amidst a stunning backdrop. The slide will give riders a breathtaking view of jungle terrain and tree canopies. It will then cross the main Teluk Bahang Road and finally drop into ESCAPE Waterplay. Now, that’s something to experience, isn’t it?

And if you’re wondering how you’ll get to the start of the longest slide, a cable car is being constructed to lift riders. The longest slide is expected to be open to public by end of July.

What Else?

Meanwhile, would you dare to ride down the world’s deadliest rollercoaster?

Imagine starting from above, from 245 feet and diving directly at the angle of 90 degrees. I have goosebumps even looking at the video. The ride is so uniquely designed it has four different types of inversions and it is only 3 minute and 25 seconds long! So much can happen in so little time!
