After the coronavirus pandemic, wearing face masks has become compulsory for people all over the world. Having said that, these face masks are gradually evolving from an item of necessity to a luxury asset. About a month ago, a Pune man named Shankar Kurade was making headlines for donning a ‘gold mask’ worth ₹2.89 lakhs. Soon after, a jewellery shop in Gujarat started selling diamond-studded masks worth ₹4 lakhs. And now, the Israeli jewellery brand, Yvel has come up with the world’s most expensive mask made of gold and diamonds, that costs a thumping ₹11 crores.
World’s Most Expensive Mask Made With 18-Karat Gold And 3600 Natural Diamonds
The designers of this swanky face mask are Isaac and Orna Levy, the couple who owns Yvel. They made the mask with 18-karat gold and 3600 white and black diamonds weighing 210 carats. The mask has also been equipped with an N99 filter. According to an Associated Press report, referring to the mask, Isaac Levy said, “Money maybe doesn’t buy everything, but if it can buy a very expensive COVID-19 mask and the guy wants to wear it and walk around and get the attention, he should be happy with that.”
We are always willing to take on new challenges and this work of art proves it! We are thankful for being able to create and function in these challenging times, thank you to all our media friends worldwide for giving us the platform to showcase it!https://t.co/8ikV2HEhUT

The Mask Weighs 270 Grams
Though the Yvel mask can act as a perfect ‘status symbol’ for the wealthy folks, its weight seems to be way heavier than what one can comfortably carry. The average weight of a single face mask is around 3.5 grams. So, wearing the world’s most expensive mask can be practically difficult due to its bulkiness.
