Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has decided to raise the vehicle speed limit on its premises to 80 kmph. This speed limit is effective from February 7. It is applicable across the lengths of the airport approach road to the parking bay on the premises. For better understanding, this revised speed limit is applicable on roads leading to the airport after the Shamshabad Flyover. This is approximately a six-kilometre stretch that usually takes about 25 minutes to cover. With the new speed limit, the travel time will be reduced to 10 to 15 minutes – at most.

In a statement issued by the airport authorities, “The speed limit is crucial to maintain the safety of all individuals utilising the road, including passengers, airport personnel and drivers.”

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport authorities have installed an automatic speed enforcement system on the airport approach road for the same.

Signage for increased speed limit has already been erected across the airport premises. Besides that. speed cameras have also been added that will help administer the speed limit.

We really hope this updated speed limit will help the travellers and make their journey a lot faster and more convenient.
