According to the official news outlet of the Sultanate of Oman, Etihad Rail, the builder and manager of the United Arab Emirates’ National Rail Network, has signed an agreement with Oman Rail to form a 50/50 joint venture named the Oman-Etihad Rail Company.

UAE official news agency Wam said that the new joint venture will be responsible for the Etihad-Oman rail network’s design, construction, and management, as well as the project’s financial aspects and timeline. Future infrastructure will link Oman’s Sohar Port to the UAE’s rail network, costing around Dh11 billion.
