You May Soon Be Able To Travel To Work In Skypods At Sharjah

The city of Sharjah is breaking new ground in the public transportation area. Thanks to new innovations created internally at the technology park, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), a thriving incubation hub for new-age innovators, is developing high-tech. These high-speed hanging skypods can transport people and freight at speeds between 150kmph and 500kmph.

UAE’s First High-Speed Electric Skypod

A firm from Belarus has already built freight and passenger-carrying hanging test tracks in collaboration with SRTIP. A 2-kilometre portion of the park is being used for testing the “unicars.” The government will declare the development of its routes within Sharjah city after satisfactory testing.

The first high-speed electric skypod network in the UAE will be this one. The business has already constructed a 2 km suspended track that would enable pods hung on very strong string rail to move at high speeds if a full-length line is operational.

The Skypods Are The Pollution Free

The technology comes with many additional advantages besides not producing any pollution. If we compare it to autos, it uses substantially less energy. An electrical motor that is partially powered by solar or wind energy offers a power-saving option. In addition, the land is for constructing retail and residential real estate and creating green open spaces by removing the pods aloft.

The technology is also quite economical. For example, the hanging rail is far less expensive and takes up less room than building a metro system will.

The system’s “urban light” track can move up to 14 people per pod at speeds of 150 kph. However, bigger carriages can move 48 or 75 passengers per pod at speeds of 500 kph. It is also far less expensive to construct and run than a magnetic levitation system, such as a hyperloop or a monorail.

Are you guys excited about this amazing technology coming to Sharjah?
