During his visit, he vowed to “cleanse” Tirupati Devasthanam – the Tirupati-Tirumala administration – and the area of “marijuana, liquor and non-vegetarian food.” He travelled to the holy temple with his family and took a special flight to Tirupati on Wednesday night and then travelled by road to Tirumala.

As per a report in India Today, while addressing the media after his visit, the new CM has said he will overlook and cleanse the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the trust that overlooks Venkateswara Temple. He said that Tirumala has been turned “into the centre of Marijuana, liquor and non-vegetarian food” and he will start cleansing it. He further mentioned that he would work to improve the quality of ‘prasadam’ at the temple and make sure that the prices for darshan are not increased.
