The concept of displaying very real-looking fake food art is very common in Japan. This Japanese art of fake food is called ‘Shokuhin Sampuru’. It allures people, helps to cut out language barriers and makes it easier to choose from the menu. All you have to do is simply point what you want to eat.

2. Monochrome Fashion

Japan thrives on fashion and is one of the fast-paced countries in terms of fashion. But blue, white and grey colours dominate the streets of Japan. You will hardly find anyone colour-blocking because monochrome is the standard norm there.

3. Solo Dining At Restaurants

They have tables and chairs specially designed for solo diners. It is not at all awkward to sit alone in a restaurant. It is rather encouraged and no one disturbs you. Introverts, where you at?

It is in their culture that you have to have a drink with your food. Japan is very serious about its drinking game and takes pride in it. They have nomihodai courses (commonly available in Izakaya bars and casual restaurants) which is an English equivalent of ‘All You Can Drink’, alcohol-wise. So cheers!

10. Toilets with High-Tech Features

The washroom business in Japan is quite technologically advanced so you barely have to do anything by yourself.  With sprays, water temperature controls, heated seats, music to give some privacy and more, they have it all. Some may even say that Japanese toilets are smarter than humans. Go figure!
