This is the second year of this one-of-a-kind festival and within just 2 years of the beginning, the storytellers have achieved a remarkable landmark. They recently set a glorious world record, that too before the end of the festival. The storytellers participated in a marathon named “Hikayathon” and set the world record for a strain 50-hour storytelling session. They broke the last record and wrote a new one while doing the marathon in Jemma Al Fnaa Square, according to a report by Time Out.

Hikayathon started at 06:47 PM on Wednesday and it continued at a stretch till 08:47 PM on Friday evening. The 50-hour-long marathon of Marrakech’s International Storytelling Festival of continuous two days and nights broke the last record of 42 hours set in Spain.

Sitting amidst the group of storytellers and listening to their stories is such a beautiful memory to cherish forever.
