In order to identify key trends in Indians’ travel considerations, the paper polled 1,000 respondents between the ages of 24 and 45 in seven major Indian cities.

Due to the significant increase in demand for foreign travel, 44% of Indians will budget more money for travel after the pandemic, 31% will make more domestic trips in 2023–2024, and 30% will lengthen their domestic journeys.

According to the report, domestic travelers would like to spend up to Rs 1 lakh, whereas over 71% of respondents are willing to spend Rs 1–6 lakh on their international vacation.

Only 14% of Indians prefer to travel alone; 36% want to go with friends, and 35% want to travel with their spouse or partner. A few people (4%) also enjoy taking their pets on trips.

Dubai And Maldives Are On Top 5

The top five international places listed by the respondents were Dubai, the Maldives, Singapore, Switzerland, and Bali. The top five most popular domestic travel destinations were Goa, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Uttarakhand.

It’s interesting to note that 1 out of 3 Indian respondents strongly indicated an interest in adventure vacations. Some people prefer to go somewhere that has beautiful scenery, like the sea or a mountain. Going on vacation can also be done for other reasons, such as to go shopping, sample new foods, or visit a theme park.

In addition to money and destinations, the research emphasizes a substantial change in tourist behavior. Cleanliness is now of the utmost significance in all aspects of trip planning, followed by flexibility and ease. The respondents also express a desire to avoid crowded areas.
