7 Pocket-Friendly Delicacies I Love The Most At U Block, Gurgaon’s Renter’s Colony

Gurgaon, unlike Delhi, is known more for upscale restaurants and posh pubs, rather than street food. But the scene at Gurgaon’s renter’s colony, U Block is absolutely different. The colony sits right beside Phase 3 Station of Rapid Metro and is always bustling with the young crowd. All the lanes out here have several properties on rent for students, corporates and others, who come to the city for a brief period. To cater to their needs, the neighbourhood has a slew of grocery stores, peppy salons, fast fashion shops and more. Also, at this place, one can binge-eat on oodles of delicacies from a wide array of street food stalls and small-scale outlets. From puri sabzis, lassis, sandwiches, pizza and momos to pasta, malai chaap, falooda, sweets and more, you can try everything out here at unbelievably affordable rates. The list of my favourites is below:

1. Creamy Waffles@₹119 At Waffle Block

This cutesy, yellow hued-stall makes mouth-watering burgers, pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, shakes and more. Burgers start at just ₹49 here and pizzas start at ₹59. Some other must-tries here are Spiral Potato and Honey Chilly Chicken. The delicacy I love the most from this food joint is the Crunchy Kitkat Waffle priced at ₹119. The outlet also serves Nutella Strawberry Waffle, Dark Chip Chocolate Waffle and Mix Fruit Chocolate Waffle.

2. Spring Rolls@₹50 At Baliraj Chinese Food

Trust me on this, the spring rolls served at ₹50 here are no less crispy than any popular restaurant. These, when paired with a cup of piping hot tea are profoundly pampering to the taste buds. The place is also loved by regulars for its momos and chow mein.

3. Tandoori Momos @₹40

In U Block, there are many tandoori momo stalls that serve spicy, red hot barbequed veg and chicken tandoori momos. The momos are mostly served with green chutney and mayonnaise and prices per plate start at around ₹40. So easy on the pocket!

4. Buttery Pizzas @₹59 At Rominus Pizza

The door of this eatery has the most eye-catching phrase and that’s “Pizza @₹59”. Rominus Pizza serves around 46 kinds of delectable pizzas and their Buttery Mania Soya Pizza comes at only ₹59. Also, on Wednesdays and Fridays, you can buy one pizza here and get the second one for absolutely free.

5. Sunny Leone Chap@₹110 At Veerji Malai Chap Wale

Ever had Sunny Leone Chaap, Mia Khalifa Chaap and Baby Doll Chaap? You can try these hot and fiery chaap varients at U Block’s Veerji Malai Chap Wale. Half a plate of Sunne Leone Chaap comes at ₹150. A full plate of the chaap comes at ₹220.

6. Bombay Vada Pav@₹49 At Urban Vada Pav

Who said that the most drool-worthy vada pavs are available only in Mumbai? You can try them right within Gurgoan at Urban Vada Pav. This little food joint serves a wide array of vada pavs like Bombay Vada Pav, Ahmedabadi Vada Pav, Chicken Masala Vada Pav, Urban Chicken Vada Pav and more. You can also gorge on maggi, momos, pasta, wraps and nuggets out here.

7. Streetside Gujiyas @₹20 At Gupta Ji Sweets And Namkeen

Every evening, returnees from workplaces, collages and more gather here for luscious gujiyas dipped in sugar syrup that come at ₹20. The sweet shop serves samosas too. We can’t vouch on the hygiene though, as the savouries are made in open, but nevertheless, they taste scrumptious.
