Ramadan is a time for self-reflection giving back to the community on celebration. And it seems that the UAE residents are prioritising physical fitness and their well-being during the holy month. Yes, this was revealed in a study by New Balance. According to the New Balance Ramadan Fitness Survey 2024, there is a focus on the fitness commitments, attitudes, and habits of the UAE residents during the holy month. Take a look!

The New Balance Ramadan Fitness Survey 2024 shines the light on the fitness commitments and attitudes along with the habits of the residents in the UAE during the holy month of Ramadan. Giving an insight into the active lifestyles of UAE residents, New Balance has launched ‘This Ramadan, Celebrate the Night’ campaign. This includes night runs throughout the holy month, thereby promoting a more inclusive and positive view of running culture.

76% UAE Residents Set Specific Ramadan Fitness Goals

Coming back to the research, 76% of the UAE respondents revealed they have set specific Ramadan fitness goals. Out of this, two-thirds, which makes about 67% revealed that fasting makes it easier to stick to their fitness routines. While 55% of UAE residents residence reveal that they find it easier to maintain their fitness goals during the holy month with shorter workouts.

UAE Residents More Active At Night During Ramadan

In fact, with their commitment to physical well-being, results also showed that there were more physical activities that were happening at night. With the emergence of new night audience, 6 out of 10 residents (making up about 58%) reported higher energy levels at night during Ramadan. Not to mention, 55% revealed that they felt most active after Iftar and further into the night.

As such, UAE residents prefer a wide range of physical activity preferences. With nearly 3/4 immersing themselves in a wide range of activities. Yes, this includes yoga, running, gym sessions, aerobic dances, and cycling.

With so many people being more dedicated towards their physical well-being during the holy month, don’t forget to partake in ‘This Ramadan, Celebrate the Night’ campaign, which encourages movement after Iftar.
