What Is It?

Agara Lake is one the most beautiful attractions of Bengaluru, great to spot the migratory birds at the lake with brimming waters.

The lakes were victim to rapid urbanization and development when a group of citizens got together in an effort to save the lake from the verge of dying.

With a grant of ₹16.10 crore from the state government, the Karnataka Lake Conservation and Development Authority began restoration of the Agara Lake in 2016. The lake is now brimming with fresh water after removal of weed, dewatering and de-silting of the lake.

The citizens have been working closely along with support from the government to restore the water.
