The mountain village of Hatta is located around 130 kilometres from Dubai. It is a popular spot for adventure seekers in addition to its historical fort and tiny desert farms. The quaint hamlet is soon to get a sustainable waterfall which will be the new tourist attraction. Started by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the project is worth AED 46 million and is part of its social and economic responsibility to establish the town as a unique travel destination. Not to mention, this project will provide job opportunities to the residents of the area.

The main objective of this project is to establish a sustainable natural environment and develop the area while turning it into a recreational space. It will include everything from cafes and restaurants to playgrounds and souvenir shops. One of the best features of the waterfall is the advanced technologies utilised while keeping up with international environmental regulations.

In order to create a natural waterfall, the project makes use of the Al Ghabra dam’s slope. It utilises collected and recycled water, making it sustainable! Additionally, the project provides an unforgettable experience of the splendid mountainous region.

Hatta not only provides a glimpse of the ancient culture and customs but also the evolution of Dubai from a sandy, scorching desert to a gleaming metropolis. After its restoration in 2001, the place was open to anyone keen to explore activities like biking, hiking, kayaking and more! In fact, the rocky terrain and hill parks provide the best scenic view of the surroundings.

The Hatta Heritage Village, The Hatta Wadi Hub and Hatta Hill Park are among a few tourist attractions. And with this new soon-to-open sustainable waterfall, Hatta will be a place like no other for tourists who are looking for a getaway from the city.
