On Wednesday, Sanjiv Kapoor, the former CEO of Jet Airways, announced that he had joined Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier Saudia Group. Ibrahim Al-Omar, the Director General of the Group, hired Sanjiv Kapoor to serve as his advisor at the airline based in Jeddah.
According to the ex-CEO’s tweet, he is thrilled to join the Saudia Group as Advisor to His Excellency Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of the Group. He further stated that the strategy’s important components include the function and transformation of Saudia, the Saudi Arabian flag carrier, and the founding of Riyadh Air. Aviation will play a significant role in this.
Moreover, he is thrilled to have the chance to work with such a bright and dedicated group of people. He is also ready to participate in what seems to be an interesting adventure.
Hiring Of The Advisor & Airline’s Expansion
Sanjiv Kapoor’s hiring coincides with Saudia Group’s plans for a significant expansion. And not to mention its current order of 39 wide-body 787 Dreamliner aircraft from Boeing. One year after being appointed to the role, Sanjiv Kapoor decided to resign as CEO-designate of Jet Airways in April.
In a statement, he stated that he feels proud to have been a member of the incredible team. They joined forces with JKC to revive an airline for the first time in India, making history. They set out to resurrect Jet Airways during the last 25 years of its existence. It was one of India’s most cherished airlines before it ceased operations in 2019. He is happy with the innovative business plan they created and the advancements they accomplished.
