Akshay Kumar Takes Dig At Indian History Books Teaching More About Invaders Than Our Own Kings

In a recent promotional event for his film Samrat Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar took a dig at the history books of Indian schools and said that they teach more about the invaders and less about our own rulers. In an ANI interview, Akshay was asked why is it that we do not know much about our own kings. In reply, Akshay said that nobody wrote about them and they should be written about. He said that the children do not read about them. He also said that he wants to appeal to the education minister to look into the matter.

Akshay Demands A Balance In History Books Between The Kings Of India And The Invaders

Akshay demanded a balance in the information provided in history books between the kings of India and the invaders. He said, “I am not saying we should not know about Mughals, but balance it out. We should know about our kings also, they were great too.” He said that the history should be brought in front of everybody and added that the children would like to know about them.

Akshay’s Statement Got Mixed Reactions From The Internet

Akshay’s statement received mixed reactions from the internet. While some supported his statement, others said that history books in India have full chapters about Prithviraj Chauhan and other Rajput kings.
