All The Public Places In Abu Dhabi You Will Be Able To Visit ONLY If Vaccinated

Abu Dhabi has laid out a set of new rules for residents and citizens, which will be applicable from 20 August. Only vaccinated citizens and residents will be permitted entry in certain public places in the capital. The move comes as an initiative to curb the spread of the pandemic. But where and when will vaccination proof be required? Read on to know the new rules.

Which Places Do Abu Dhabi Residents Need To Show Proof Of Vaccination?

Starting 20 August, Abu Dhabi residents must show proof of vaccination in order to enter public places like shopping centres, restaurants, cafes and retail outlets. This also includes those outside shopping centres, except supermarkets and pharmacies.

Besides, proof of vaccination will also be required for those entering gyms, recreational facilities and sporting activities, health clubs, resorts, museums, cultural centres and theme parks, as well as universities, institutes, public and private schools and nurseries. In addition, residents must also provide vaccination proof in order to enter live events. Proof of vaccination must be shown via the Al Hosn app.

Who Is Exempt From The New Rule?

Children under 15 years of age and those with special exemptions from vaccination are exempted from the new rule. However, the exemption must be registered on the Al Hosn app. Here’s a list of who’s exempted:

  • Covid-19 patients
  • Children under 12
  • Pregnant women
  • People previously infected with Covid-19, confirmed by a medical evaluation
  • People vaccinated outside the country
  • Those who are allergic to vaccines or any of their ingredients, as well as people suffering from conditions that may “conflict with the vaccine”

How Can You Get An Exemption?

You can get an exemption from the Ministry of Health and Prevention website and completing a form, quoting your Emirates ID number. A text message will then be sent to the applicant, about the status of your application. The result will automatically antically be updated to the Al Hosn app.

Alternatively, the person seeking exemption can be assessed by a doctor at a Seha centre. The doctor will consider the request and submit a medical report to authorities for approval.

Where Can You Get Vaccinated In Abu Dhabi?
