The construction of Abu Dhabi’s famous Hindu temple in the Abu Mureikha neighbourhood is past 55% completion. If you visit the site you might catch a glimpse of magnificent marble columns being installed in the main prayer hall.

The framework and temporary ramps will be gone by this point next year. The BAPS Hindu Mandir will be a distinctive building that combines conventional architectural motifs to produce a tranquil place of prayer and community hall, as well as landscape and water components.

Worshippers will enter the cold, white marble chamber of the two-story temple, which will hold Hindu deities revered throughout India, after passing by the pink sandstone façade. The temple is scheduled to open in February of the following year.

For the shrine to reach this crucial stage, more than four years of extensive analysis, meticulously carved statues by hand, and expert artistry were required.

Seven shikhars(towers) will be constructed on top of the stone murals that are now being installed in the next months. Do you know one pillar has almost taken a year to be hand-carved by an artist? The UAE’s seven emirates are represented by the number seven. The sandy region around the now-visible granite base of the temple will be levelled, and canals will be created.

The Abu Dhabi building was built without the use of steel reinforcing, similar to older Hindu temples.

Each Indian-carved column is identified by a unique numerical code that corresponds to numerals marked on the Abu Dhabi site.

An amphitheatre area will imitate ghats in India, and tunnels leading to a river. People can sit on the stairway to enjoy the waterway. The canals would get water from the Ganga, Yamuna, and Sarasvati rivers in India, and one waterway will be lit.

People will be allowed to access this beautiful Hindu temple by February 2024.
