Amarnath Yatra Update: Devotees Will Not Be Able To Stop Near The Cave

Amarnath Yatra 2022 resumed on Tuesday after being suspended for four days in the Ganderbal district. The suspension was due to flash floods triggered by a cloudburst that took several lives. The safety of the devotees is of utmost importance to the Board now. And hence the Baba Amarnath Shrine Board has implemented some new rules. The board has abolished the arrangement for living near the Amarnath cave. The board has also reduced the time of Baba Barfani darshan. Read on to know more about the recent changes made by the Board for the smooth running of the Amarnath Yatra.

Darshan Of The Holy Ice Lingam At Amarnath Yatra Is Reduced By Two Hours

The Holy Ice Lingam of Baba Barfani at the Holy Cave Shrine is considered to bring prosperity. Devotees from all over the world flock to Amarnath Yatra for a single glimpse of the Shiva lingam. The 2022 yatra was going smoothly until a cloudburst hindered the peace. At least 15 people have been killed, while over 30 people are still missing. Keeping all of the dangers in mind, the Board’s decision to reduce the darshan time is really thoughtful. Earlier the darshan time was till 6pm but it’s reduced by two hours now. The new darshan time for devotees is only till 4 pm. Apart from this, the Board has also instructed the tenters to set up tents away from the cave. Must say, the safety measures taken up for the Amarnath Yatra are totally the need of the hour!

Pilgrims Still Hopeful About Darshan

The recent cloudburst incident has created chaos amongst the pilgrims of Amaranth Yatra. A lot of pilgrims are still missing. The Indian Army has inducted radars to trace survivors under the debris. And still, continue to do it. As the cloudburst struck the area near the holy shrine of Amarnath, darshan has become a risky affair. However, after four days of suspension, the Yatra has resumed. And a fresh batch of pilgrims has left for darshan from the Jammu base camp. The pilgrims are hopeful and are filled with energy. No one wants to go back without the ‘darshan’ of Baba Barfani right? Well, let’s hope the devotees are able to offer their prayers without further danger in the Yatra!
