Ayodhya-Delhi direct commercial flights will begin on January 6, 2024. It is a significant step towards linking the ancient city with major centres. Furthermore, on January 11th, flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya will begin, which will improve connection even more.

According to Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, Ayodhya will be included on the national aviation map with the addition of new flights between Delhi and Ayodhya and Ahmedabad and Ayodhya. Their new flights will make it easier for pilgrims and other visitors to reach Ayodhya.

The flights between Delhi and Ayodhya will run every day, providing travellers with convenient travel options. The inauguration is going to coincide with the major celebration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in January 2024. There will likely be more travel activity in the city, which makes these additional aircraft connections essential for comfort and accessibility.

In addition, IndiGo has Ayodhya listed as its 86th domestic and 118th total destination on its network. Further, ehe airline is prepared to take off on December 30 from the Maryada Purshottam Shri Ram International Airport.

Third Phase, Solar Power Panels & More!

The airport will have a 250 KWP solar power plant to meet GRIHA-V standards. In addition, starting on December 30, IndiGo will begin operating the route from the Ayodhya airport.

Officials say that the airport will include solar panels strategically positioned close to the parking lot in addition to the solar power plant, which will increase the airport’s overall energy efficiency. These environmentally friendly measures will drastically lower the airport’s carbon footprint and are in line with the worldwide movement towards sustainable infrastructure.

The airport’s first phase has a 65,000-square-foot terminal. Also, it can accommodate two or three flights each hour. Ayodhya Airport’s completion demonstrates the government’s dedication to improving aviation connectivity and infrastructure development.

The airport’s main entrance will have a large stepped “shikar,” which is a temple’s highest raised structure. The entire airport will be outlined by biblical passages, and the enormous columns that support the ceiling of the terminal will symbolise the pivotal moments, or “Kandas,” of the Ramayana. With its symbolic design, the airport will be the perfect blend of modern conveniences and Ayodhya’s rich cultural heritage.
