Assam CM Shares Heartbreaking Clip Of Rhino Hit By Truck; Vows To Save Animals With Elevated Corridor

India is focusing solely and majorly on the preservation of its wildlife ecosystem. Assam, particularly home to the one-horned rhinos is making large efforts to protect the wildlife in the state. Assam tourism is driven by its wildlife and natural ecosystem. On Saturday, Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to express the unfortunate incident that took place with a rhino at Haldibari, Assam. Here’s what he wrote —

Assam Rhino Hit By Truck; Questions Arise On Animal Safety

CM Sarma shared a video of the rhino incident, wherein one could spot a truck hitting a rhino and run pass. He wrote, “Rhinos are our special friends; we’ll not allow any infringement on their space. In this unfortunate incident at Haldibari the Rhino survived; vehicle intercepted & fined. Meanwhile in our resolve to save animals at Kaziranga we’re working on a special 32-km elevated corridor.”

Elevated Corridor In Kaziranga National Park

Netizens definitely were taken aback by the accident of the rhino. And, Sarma by expressing the unfortunate incident, also announced the construction of a special 32-km elevated animal corridor for the rhinos to move within the area. While some Twitter users questioned charging the driver, a few also wrote that the construction of a highway in such areas too is the reason behind the accident.
