Vande Bharat Express is one of the latest railway transportation facilities started by the Railways. At the present moment, there are 17 state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express trains travelling in different corners of India. Soon we will have the 18th one after Narendra Modi inaugurates it on 29 May 2023. PM Modi ji will be flagging off the first train of its kind in Assam on Monday. Here are all the details that you need to know about this state’s first Vande Bharat!

Modi Ji To Flag The First-Ever Vande Bharat Express Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement of flagging off this express train on his official Twitter page. He stated that he will be inaugurating it at 12 noon on Monday and is delighted for such an occasion. He will be flagging off the express train in Assam by video conferencing.

Modi Ji shared in the tweet about this extraordinary train and how it embodies the “commitment to providing speed, comfort and enhanced connectivity.” He also stated how this state-of-the-art train will be a massive boost for the tourism sector and promote socio-economic development.

  • This is the 18th Vande Bharat Express of India and the first of its kind in Assam.
  • This is the first train of its kind to run between Assam’s Guwahati and West Bengal’s New Jalpaiguri.
  • Also, this is the third Vande Bharat to operate in West Bengal.
  • It will take just 5 hours and 30 minutes to cover the total distance of 411 km, according to a report by LiveMint.
  • Passengers will be able to travel on this train From Wednesday to Monday. It will run 6 days a week, except on Tuesdays.
  • The train will have a total of 5 stations between Guwahati in Assam and New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. The stations are Kamakhya, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, and New Coochbehar.
  • The train comes with a seating capacity of 530 passengers on board.
  • The seating capacity is divided into three types: Driving Trailer Coaches (44 seats each), Executive Chair Cars (52 seats each), and Normal Chair Cars (78 seats each).
