Atul Kulkarni Talks About His Fitness Journey & We Are Taking Notes

Atul Kulkarni met with Arohi Thatte, our anchor for this episode of Tere Gully Mein. He is known to have changed the trajectory of Marathi cinema with his famous film, Natarang. We discussed his life in Maharashtra, the state cuisine and more while exploring the food in Girgaum, Mumbai. We learned that he has a strict routine for food and fitness. Read on to know when he eats his lunch.

Atul Kulkarni’s Lifestyle Has A Strict Routine For Fitness

Like a lot of actors in the entertainment industry, Atul Kulkarni has a rigorous lifestyle and routine. He has followed a disciplined routine to keep a fit and healthy body for the past 15 to 16 years. We were curious about his lifestyle and he told us that he has an early dinner at around 6:30 PM to 7 PM. What’s more astonishing is that he eats his lunch at around 8:30 to 9 AM, every day. Not breakfast, lunch! 

His dedication to fitness has also been reflected in a couple of his movies. For example, he told us about the extreme transformation he had to go through for a Marathi movie, Natarang. He shared that he had to put on aroun 16-17 kg. 

He was portraying a wrestler and putting on weight for this character was a bit of a struggle for Atul Kulkarni. Then, in the same film, he had to lose 17-18 kg in a short span of 40-45 days! This was more than the weight he had to gain! He gave the credit to his friend and trainer, Shailesh Parulkar.

Why Does He Eat His Lunch In The Morning?

You might be taken aback at Atul’s habit of having lunch so early and may even wonder why anyone would do so. Atul Kulkarni shared with us that there should be a significant amount of time between bedtime and dinner. This according to him should be a minimum of three hours. 

He considers eating dinner late and going to sleep right after as wrong. He therefore has early dinners, around 7 PM. In turn, he wakes up extremely hungry and eats his lunch during breakfast hours.
