As India, gears up for the second COVID-19 wave, Bangalore has reported over 2000 cases since the past few weeks. Infact popular pub Toit in Indiranagar witnessed 8 of its employees testing positive for the novel coronavirus. The brewery temporarily shut down to keep the virus at bay. This news comes just a day after 1522-The Pub, situated on New BEL Road, reported 16 of its staff members contracting coronavirus. Toit In Indiranagar Shuts Down Temporarily After 8 Employees Test Covid Positive

Toit, an award-winning microbrewery in Bangalore has temporarily closed its doors after 8 staff members tested Covid positive. Mukesh Tolani, owner of Toit, stated to The New Indian Express, “Out of our 120-member team, eight of them were found positive during a routine checkup that we have been conducting randomly with assistance from BBMP. After the tests came through, we closed the pub and sanitised the entire place. Tolani also stated that customers who visited the pub earlier in the week, have been notified the same.

He further added, “We have informed the customers who came in last week as we had their contacts when they called for reservations. We have requested all of them to get tested.” The 8 staff members are all asymptomatic, requiring no medical attention. They are all under isolation. While Toit grapples under this temporary setback, Tolani is positive that they want to reopen this pub shortly. This news comes just a day after 1522-The Pub, announced its staffers suffering from coronavirus and shut down temporarily.

1522 Pub On New BEL Road Reports 16 Employees Contracting Coronavirus; Reopens After Deep Cleaning

The swanky decor, refreshing drinks and delectable food of Bangalore’s 1522-The Pub was temporarily missed by loyal patrons. The pub located New BEL Road reported 16 staff members contracting coronavirus. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) West Zone carried out random testing for employees working at hotels restaurant and pubs in the city. They found out 16 of the 87 employees at 1522 pub, testing Covid positive. BBMP commissioner Manjunath Prasad stated to The News Minute, “The eatery has nearly 87 staff members, of which 16 have COVID-19. The staffers are all asymptomatic and hence are self-isolating.” The pub which temporarily shut its doors after the COVID-19 cases were reported, reopened for business on March 30, after thorough deep cleaning of premises.
