Delhi’s iconic Bangla Sahib Gurudwara has made it to the news numerous times courtesy its noble initiatives. The gurudwara recently opened a pharmacy and sells medicines at discounted rates. And now Bangla Sahib Gurudwara will offer India’s cheapest MRI scan at just ₹50 from December. The gurdwara aims to make healthcare affordable to all. Read on to find out more.

Delhi’s Iconic Bangla Sahib Gurudwara Offers India’s Cheapest MRI Scan

To make sure even the underprivileged can get easy access to healthcare, Delhi’s Bangla Sahib Gurudwara shall offer India’s cheapest MRI scan at just ₹50. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) announced this initiative.  The country’s most affordable diagnostic facility will start operating in December.

Bangla Sahib Gurudwara will also set up a dialysis centre at Guru Harkrishan Hospital situated on the company premises. It will commence operations from next week. A dialysis procedure here costs just ₹600 as stated by DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa to PTI. Diagnostic machines worth ₹6 crores were donated to the hospital. He also informed that these include 4 machines for dialysis and one machine each for X-Ray, ultrasound and MRI.

MRI Scan Costs Just ₹50  For The Needy

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) will cost just ₹50 for the needy. For others, an MRI scan costs ₹800. On average, people shell out around ₹2500 for an MRI scan. People from lower-income groups can get an X-Ray and ultrasound done for just ₹150 at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. During the lockdown, Delhi’s Bangla Sahib Gurudwara took part in numerous initiatives to help the needy. The gurdwara served 40,000 people daily in April. A simple meal of dal, chawal, roti, sabzi and prasad filled the stomachs of the needy.

For Vaisakhi, devotees could even take a virtual tour of the gurudwara from the comforts of their home. Recently it opened a no-profit pharmacy to sell medicines at discounted rates to the underprivileged. And now by offering MRI scan for the cheapest rate in India, the gurudwara definitely aims closer to its aim to make this world a better place.
