The latest health and fitness trend isn’t a unique protein shake or a vibrant coloured diet, it’s water. But not your regular water that costs ₹20-30 for a bottle. It’s black water that’s known for its unusual charcoal hue. Priced at ₹3,000-4,000/ litre, black water is 200 per cent costlier than regular water. Despite this, it’s loved by many celebrities. Known as alkaline water, the minerals used to enrich the beverage give it a natural black colour. Here’s why it’s preferred over regular water by your favourite celebrities.

What Are The Benefits Of Black Water?

A Vadodara-based startup, EvocusH2O introduced the concept of black alkaline water in India. Black water sells at ₹100 for a bottle, whereas a regular mineral water bottle costs just around ₹20 to ₹40. The alkali based water is consumed by celebrities for its numerous health benefits. It’s known to have 70 minerals that aid in metabolism, digestion, anti-ageing and boosts immunity.

Reportedly, this drink has many hydrating properties that keep a person hydrated for longer periods of time. Due to its high pH of 8+, it controls and regulates the acid built up in the body. The high mineral properties also help flush out toxins. The alkaline water is said to be helpful for people suffering from diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Bollywood diva and Nude Bowls entrepreneur, Malaika Arora was seen holding a bottle of black water outside her gym. Finally, actress Shruti Haasan, known for her love for goth was seen exciting about black water in a video.
