SpiceJet Airlines has been on the receiving end after reporting continuous technical and safety malfunctions during their flights and operations. This led to the airlines receiving severe backlash for their services that might threaten the lives of the airlines passengers. In the past months, Spicejet passengers have time and again, narrated the experiences they faced during their flights and how some of them were nothing less than ‘horrifying.’
Petition Filed Against SpiceJet At Delhi High Court
SpiceJet passengers have undergone up to 16 incidents from June 16. Following the reports, a petition was filed at the Delhi High Court seeking SpiceJet to stop operations. The petition further asked to inquire if the management of SpiceJet operations was done responsibly. Prior to the petition, the Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) too sent a show cause notice to SpiceJet after the repeated technical faults. The DGCA has given SpiceJet a time period of three weeks to respond to the notice. The DGCA has stated that the airlines has failed to enable safe, reliable and effective travel services for their passengers and patrons.

SpiceJet Safe To Fly?
Speaking to India Today, SpiceJet told that the airlines are 100% safe to fly. At the same time, DGCA also held a meeting regarding the safe operations of flight services in India. Several issues were discussed along with directions that will enable passengers’ safety during flights. The DGCA also stated that passengers’ safety is of utmost importance and there will be no compromises made. They also stated that commercial airlines have to function with the international safety norms.
This implies that the DGCA is going to tighten the rules and hold airline companies responsible for any technical errors which occur during flights.
