With around 50,210 new cases, the coronavirus tally in India has crossed the 8 million mark. At present, India has nearly 8.41 million COVID-19 cases. The death toll is around a whopping 125000. India is now the second nation in the world worst hit by the virus, after the US. The US has recorded around 9.48 million coronavirus cases. Citing the alarming surge in the virus cases in India, China has temporarily banned the entry of foreign nationals from India. Meanwhile, China is building the world’s largest football stadium in the shape of a lotus.
New Imported Cases Reported In China From India
China has witnessed a recent spike in imported coronavirus cases. On November 2, the country had reported 49 new infections, out of which 44 were allegedly imported cases. The other five were locally transmitted cases in Xinjiang. Among the 44 imported cases, four were from a New Delhi-Wuhan flight, which were the city’s first imported cases since August 7. 19 passengers from an India-China Vande Bharat flight have tested positive for the virus. Also, the coronavirus cases are increasing in India at an alarming rate and now the virus tally has crossed the 8 million mark. Considering all these factors, China has banned the entry of foreign nationals with a valid Chinese visa or residence permit from India. People holding diplomatic, service, courtesy or crew (C) visas will be exempted from the prohibition. For emergencies and humanitarian needs, travellers need to submit an application at the embassy.

Ban On Resident Entry From The UK And Belgium
According to a Business Insider report, the Chinese Embassy in India has stated, “The suspension is a temporary measurement that China has to adopt to deal with the current pandemic. China will make further adjustments and announcements in accordance with the ongoing pandemic situation.” China has also prohibited entry for residents from the UK and Belgium. Stricter norms have been implemented for France, Germany and the US.
