China’s First Home-Grown Passenger Jet Takes Its First Commercial Flight; Details Inside

Comac C919 is the first domestically produced passenger aircraft in China. This airline began its maiden commercial flight service on 28 May 2023. Commercial Aviation Corporation of China has developed the C919 plane and after years of hard work and production, the Chinese commercial jetliner finally took off its first-ever commercial flight on Sunday morning. First Commercial Flight Of This Passenger Jet Took Off From Shanghai

Hua Chunying 华春莹, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China shared some pictures of the debut flight from Shanghai to Beijing.

It was at 10:32 AM (local time) in Shanghai Hongqiao Airport when Comac C919’s first flight took off towards its destination, Beijing. According to a report by CNN, the passenger jet reached the Beijing Capital International Airport at 12:31 PM (local time). It was a journey of about 2 hours. The first commercial flight of this airliner had a smooth landing at the airport. There were around 130 passengers on board, as reported by China Daily. The airliner provided them with red boarding passes and themed meals, according to China Central Television. It is indeed a major landmark for the country and companies that worked hard to make their dreams a reality.

According to a report by NDTV, this plane comes with a single aisle and twin engines. It has 164 seats to accommodate the passengers on board. Flights will fly regularly between Shanghai and Chengdu from Monday.

The Jetliner Aims To Give A Competition To The Opponents

When it comes to competitors, Airbus and Boeing are the biggest names. This passenger jet of China hopes in competing with the major Western rival companies and make it a challenge for them. The commercial jetliner is all set and geared up to make a permanent name in the aviation market and give major competition to the biggest rivals.
