Comedian Jo Koy Will Soon Be Performing At Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena

Seems like Dubai has a new found soft corner for comedians! Celebrity comedian Russell Peters was the first to host a gig at the Coca Cola Arena. And now, the city is gearing up for a laughter rito by Jo Koy. This is the first time the Filipino-American comedian will be at the emirate for a gig. The event is slated for 20 January, so save the date!

Jo Koy will be performing a gig at the Coca Cola Arena as part of his Just Kidding World Tour. “This will be my first time performing in Dubai, and I’m so excited I get to do it at the Coca-Cola Arena. This has been a dream of mine, and I can’t wait to get there and make you all laugh. Get ready Dubai!” he said in a statement. Tickets for the gig will go on sale on Thursday November 14 at 10:00 am.

Ticket prices start at AED 195 and go up to AED 695.

After the recent release of the Netflix special, ‘Comin’ In Hot’, Koy is currently touring across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines as part of the Just Kidding World Tour.

Koy has four highly rated stand-up specials on Comedy Central and Netflix to his credit. In addition, he has also wowed fans with ‘The Koy Pond with Jo Koy’ – a weekly podcast by Starburns Audio. That’s not all! Earlier this year, Koy reached the No 1 position on the Billboard Charts for his stand-up comedy album, ‘Live From Seattle’.

In 2018 Koy was named Stand-Up Comedian Of The Year award at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal.

Meanwhile, the world-renowned musician and Oscar winner AR Rahman is all set to enthrall the audience in Dubai this November. The award-winning musician will be going live on November 15, Friday in Coca Cola Arena at City Walk.

The music director is renowned across the world for his soulful renditions fusing Ethnic music with contemporary instruments from around the globe. Famously known as the Mozart of Madras, he has songs in various regional Indian languages as well as Hindi. Additionally, The British world-music magazine Songlines named him one of “Tomorrow’s World Music Icons” in 2011.

The musician is undoubtedly going to be treat to the ears with his discography ranging from Hindi, Telugu to Tamil- from where he began his career. Having composed soundtracks for over 100 films, his most famous ones are the Oscar-winning Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire and Dil Se among others.
