Monsoon is entering different states of India for the past recent weeks. And now there are probable chances of the rainfall to begin in more Indian states well. This is the time of the year when many places get hit by severe storms and there was a probability for happening the same in India as well. It was reported previously that Cyclone Biporjoy brewing over the Arabian Sea was getting intensified and all set to hit some parts of India very soon. The good news is that the chances of this cyclonic storm have decreased. If Cyclone Biporjoy is not entering India, what is its recent update?

There has been a slight delay for the seasonal monsoon to enter Kerala. It is getting further delayed because of the formation of cyclone Biporjoy over the Arabian Sea, as shared by the India Meteorological Department. Wednesday was all about finding the exact whereabouts of this scary storm. While the morning began with the risk of the storm getting stronger, we got the good news by the end of the day. Cyclone Biporjoy moved in its direction and India seems to be out of danger from its aftermath.

It has now changed its way from north to north north-westward Arabian Peninsula and the Gulf of Persia region, according to a report by Pune Mirror. With the change in direction and shift in places, it is indeed a huge relief. Many people were scared of the consequences of the intensifying cyclone but India is now out of danger. Though the cyclone is about to hit the Gulf of Persia region, the impact will not be much as its intensity is decreasing.

Anupam Kashyapi is the Indian Meteorological Department’s head of the weather forecasting division. He shared with Pune Mirror about the entry of monsoon rains in Kerala within the next 48 hours. Kerala and some states in the Northeast will experience rainfall by 9 June.
