But there’s one particular dish that Deepika says she can eat almost every day. And that’s rasam-rice, her favorite dish. According to the actor, rasam-rice can never bore you. Deepika Padukone has always been very vocal about her love for Rasam-rice. Among all South Indian delicious dishes rasam rice is considered to be the best one-pot meal. It’s easy to cook at home and also very healthy for you. No doubt Deepika loves the dish. On Thursday, Deepika Padukone took to her Instagram to share an adorable animation video about Rasam-rice by the artist Christina Furtado. The video opens with the ‘Piku’ background music and shows how eating Rasam-rice even in a restaurant can make you emotional and remind you of your home and its authentic taste. Deepika shares the video on her Instagram feed with the caption, ” Rasam & Rice is an Emotion… Truly!” Well, we can’t agree more with Deepika.

Rasam Rice is not just famous for its taste, the dish is also very healthy and Deepika Padukone will undoubtedly agree with this! Rasam Rice tastes best with fried vegetable dishes and this dish is the perfect remedy for colds and coughs. So here’s a quick recipe for rasam rice, the favorite dish of Deepika Padukone.

Ingredients:

  • Grated tomatoes.
  • Oil
  • Ghee or butter.
  • Mustard seed, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and salt.
  • Black pepper, rasam powder, garlic, ginger.
  • Coriander leaves.
  • Red chili powder and turmeric powder.

Procedure:

  • First cook rice properly until soft and keep it aside.
  • Grate tomatoes or make a puree and keep it aside.
  • Take a pan, heat oil in it, and add ghee also for better flavor.
  • Add mustard seed and cumin seeds. When they crackle add curry leaves.
  • Add grated tomatoes, salt, garlic, turmeric powder, red chili powder, black pepper powder as well as rasam powder.
    Add water and cook it properly.
  • When rasam is cooked properly add cooked rice to the boiling Rasam.
