Delhites are shivering this winter season as the temperatures are dropping by the day. On Friday, the people of the national capital woke up to the coldest morning of the winter season. The minimum temperature decreased to 3.8°C.

Delhi Witnessed The Coldest Morning Of This Winter Season

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Capt_Ck (@Capt_Ck) shared a video of the Delhi roads covered in sheets of fog.

The city was completely wrapped in dense fog this morning. The conditions turned so intense that the visibility dropped to zero and it ended up disrupting the scheduled services of flights and trains. The fog blankets in most parts of Delhi delayed the flight and train operations. As stated by the Railways, 23 trains reaching Delhi from different parts of India got delayed because of the foggy surroundings. These trains are running late as they got delayed by around 6 hours.

About an hour ago, Delhi Airport (@DelhiAirport) shared updates about the present situation of flight operations at the airport.

The visibility was zero at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. This disturbed the flight schedules on Friday. The thick sheets of fog delayed the flights coming and leaving the airport by a few hours. The delaying period was about 1 to 4 hours, according to a report by India Today. In a recent announcement, the airport stated that the landings and take-offs are continuing and there are probable chances that flights that are not CAT I complaint might face some impacts.
