Delhi’s New Ashram Underpass To Save Time & Fuel Of Commuters With Hassle-Free Travel

Travelling between South Delhi and Central Delhi got hassle-free with the inauguration of the Ashram Underpass on Mathura Road. The underpass will help commuters ditch traffic woes while travelling through the Ashram crossing. It will link Bhogal with the New Friends colony and will benefit those travelling to ITO and other locations in Central Delhi. The underpass will also help in saving fuel and reducing carbon emissions in the environment.

The Underpass Can Be A Faster And Economical Mode Of Transport

According to a tweet by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the Ashram Underpass will save around 1550 litres of fuel daily. Fuel prices are on the rise. Fuel gets exhausted when commuters wait for a long time at the Ashram crossing. Thus, the underpass construction will prove to be a faster as well as an economical mode for travellers. Also, it will allow a reduction in the emission of 3,600 kg of carbon gas. Sisodia inaugurated the underpass on April 24, 2022. In Sisodia’s words, the underpass will come to the aid of lakhs of travellers.

The Insides Of The Underpass Look Stunning With Colourful Murals

The insides of the underpass are decked with colourful murals to give commuters a pleasant experience.  Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had laid the foundation stone of the underpass on December 24, 2019. Earlier, eight deadlines were missed for the launching of the underpass. It has been built at a cost of around ₹53 crores. ₹73 crores was the estimated cost of the project. The remaining amount was utilised for the movement of utilities.
