Dubai has some of the most stunning beaches in the world. And now, Dubai 2040 plans include a major overhaul of two beaches in Dubai that will certainly change the look of these adored public landmarks. Yes, Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1 are set to receive some major overall and we are here to give you the details.

Dubai 2040: Plans To Develop Al Mamzar And Jumeirah 1

There are plans to build a floating bridge that will link the two sides of Al Mamzar. Announced on Monday, June 3 by Dubai 2040, this is going to be a 200 m pedestrian bridge and it will be a first-of-its-kind in the emirate. Not to mention, Deira will also get its first night beach that will be open 24*7! As it happens, the urban planning committees in Dubai have already awarded contracts for the development of Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1. The project is worth AED355 million.

Coming to the nitty gritty of the project, a 4.3 km stretch of Al Mamzar and a 1.4 km stretch of Jumeirah 1 will be developed. The development project is expected to be completed in 18 months. However, it’s worth noting that the public beaches will remain partially closed when it’s being developed.

What Does The Development Plan Entail?

While the parts that will remain open will have safety measures so that people will be protected. As it happens, these two beaches will also have a total of 11 km of bicycle and running tracks and a 5 km walkway that will be surrounded by trees. The area will be dotted with barbeque, fitness activities and children’s schemes that will certainly keep the public space buzzing.

Apart from this, there will also be a 1400-car parking, an automatic irrigation system to keep the area green, safety deposit boxes, Wi-Fi, beach rescue services, 100 security cameras, and electronic screens. There are also plans for 50 investment opportunities like water activities leasing, outlets, commercial kiosks, self-service machines to sell food & beverages, umbrellas, beach seating, advertising space, and restaurants.

So, we can certainly imagine how amazing the beach is going to be once it is open to the public.
