Dubai-aites Can Now Book Covid-19 Vaccine Appointments Through WhatsApp; Here’s How

Dubai residents can now book Covid-19 vaccine appointments via WhatsApp. All you need to do is add 800 342 to your contacts and send “Hi” on WhatsApp. Those who wish to book a vaccine appointment must submit their Medical Record Number (MRN), which is mandatory in order to use the service. Read on to know the steps in detail.

Once you add the number and send a message, you will be able to select the vaccination centre and the preferred date and time. The system works on an AI enabled process, which will roll out the earliest available appointment in the selected centre. Residents will then received a confirmation message mentioning the centre, time and date of the appointment. The service is free and is available 24/7.

Over 150,000 Covid-19 queries were addressed ever since DHA began the hotline service. Speaking about the new system, Fatma Al Khajah, Director of the Customer Happiness Department at DHA, said: “Through the use of AI technology and this additional channel to book an appointment for the Covid-19 vaccine, we aim to provide community members with the utmost convenience. The new service will further bolster our vaccination drive.”

Ever since the pandemic broke out, WhatsApp has partnered with more than 150 national, state, and local governments as well as organisations like WHO and UNICEF, in order to help users with timely and accurate information. In addition, Facebook also rolled out a Coronavirus Information Centre that appears on top of the feed, proving the latest updates on the pandemic.
