And if you are someone who lives in Dubai, you already know that the beaches here are something that no one must miss. And now, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai has approved the plan to increase the total length of public beaches by 400%. Yes, he has approved the Dubai Master Plan For Public Beaches, which aims to reach this goal by 2040, and as a result, also forms a part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. Here’s all you need to know about this beach-related development.

400% Increase Of Beaches In Dubai By 2040

As His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved Dubai Master Plan For Public Beaches, he mentioned that there will be an increase in the length of public beaches by 400% by 2040. This means the total length will increase from an existing 21 km to a whopping 105 km! The Dubai Media Office mentioned in its report that several services offered on the beach will also increase by a whopping 300% by the year 2025. As it happens, the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, as mentioned above, not only features the opening of new beaches but also the development of the existing ones.

84 Km Of Public Beaches To Be Added 

The report also mentions that 84 km of public beaches will also be added in order to cater to the growing population of the emirate. As it happens, the plan is to consolidate the emirate’s status as one of the top three cities for tourists. Phase 1 of this master plan mentioned that 54 km of public beaches will be added. This also includes the development of the Jebel Ali public beach, which is being done in collaboration with Nakheel. It will be developed into a stunning eco-tourism attraction that will feature a range of activities, and mangrove trees are to be planted to protect erosion and preserve marine animals. In fact, there are plans to launch a direct bus route between Jebel Ali Metro Station and the new Jebel Ali public beach.

    Cycling and pedestrian tracks.
  • Aqua sports facilities, rest and recreational amenities.
  • Restaurants
  • Shops and investment outlets.
  • Family-friendly places
  • Beach camping
  • Parking areas
  • Turtle enclosure in accordance with global standards for their protection, which the public can visit

4000 M Of Cycling Track To Be Added To Al Mamzar

It should also be mentioned that the Dubai Master Plan For Public Beaches also includes the development of the Al Mamzar Public Beach. As such, this project will begin as early as June this year. In fact, a 4000 m cycle track will also be added to the beach and 9% of its beaches will be designated for night swimming in 2023. By 2024, it is expected that the number of services on the beach will increase and an additional 3% of the beach will be designated for night swimming. And by 2025, the services on the beach will increase 3-fold and the length of the cycling tracks will also rise by 20%. It should be mentioned that this plan also aims to cater to people of determination, especially those with hearing and visual impairment. For this specific requirements have been integrated into the Beach development project.
