Emirates Announces Academy-Award Winning Actress Penélope Cruz As Their New Brand Ambassador

On Thursday, Emirates airlines announced Academy-Award winning actress Penélope Cruz as their new brand ambassador. The brand launched its latest campaign featuring her and announced this big news. The collaborative initiatives of the brand will also feature the 49-year-old Spanish actor. She is the only Spanish actor to win an Academy award and has won 5 other major film awards.

Actress Penélope Cruz has been a frequent flyer with Emirates for years now. She has been a fan of the brand and has visited Dubai multiple times.

The brand also announced that TV commercials featuring actress Penélope will be aired in both Spanish and English from the month of June. These commercials will also be aired on Emirates’ digital channels.

The airline also mentioned their theme for the advertisements across channels. The theme will be that travel is about how you get there and not the end destination.

Robert Stromberg, a double Oscar winner has directed the advertisements. He made sure that the thoughtful luxury of the Fly Better experience and Cruz’s cheeky sense of humour both are portrayed well together.

All the Exclusive Facilities Of The Airlines Are Showcased

Penélope  Cruz is shown in the commercials sampling all of the exclusive luxuries that Emirates First and Business Class customers enjoy as they Fly Better, from a crafted beverage in the A380 Onboard Lounge to an indulgent shower above the clouds, cheering for a football game shown live on TV, and relishing generous helpings of luxury caviar. She also appreciates the spacious seats in Emirates’ new Premium Economy Class.

The series of TV spots was also supported by Ridley Scott Associates, a prestigious production house, and Framestore, a multi-award-winning creative studio for special effects. 

Senior Vice-President of Brand and Advertising, Richard Billington, said that the brand is all about flying better where the journey is as important as the destination. They were looking for a brand ambassador who can be a reflection of the brand and Cruz fit in perfectly.
