Dubai Withdraws Ban Air India Express Within Few Hours; Flights To Resume Today

Dubai Civil aviation authority lifts ban on Air India express. Hours after announcing that all flights to and from Dubai stands cancelled, Air India Express has said it will operate flights as per original schedule starting today. A total of five flights that were supposed to function from Dubai International Airport were rescheduled to Sharjah International Airport on Friday, Air India Express told a leading daily. Passengers who got affected by the ban took a flight from Sharjah International Airport.

The Passenger Already Had A Positive Test Result Issued on September 2

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority had suspended Air India Express operations to the Dubai airport. This step was in action because the budget airline was carrying a covid-19 positive passenger.

As per the leading daily, the suspension notice stated that the airline had carried the passenger on September 4, on flight IX1135, from Jaipur to Dubai. The passenger reportedly already had a positive test result, issued on September 2 at a diagnostic centre in Jaipur.

Dubai International Airport Shows Cancelled Status For Air India Express Flights Yesterday

The airline is also flying passengers eligible to return to the UAE from India. It is under the air bubble agreement between the two countries. The Dubai International Airport has started showing “cancelled” status for all Air India Express flights scheduled for today (Friday). Passengers have started receiving the changes in the schedules from the authorities. Yesterday, after the ban, passengers had to take their flights from the Sharjah International Airport.

The affected passengers who made bookings with fly Dubai now have an option to rebook the flights for a future date.
