Every year Dubai-aites come together for the Dubai Fitness Challenge, in order to promote a healthy lifestyle. The annual event is a movement launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.  While there are a host of challenges you can take part it, there’s one specifically for cyclists.

Bikers, gear up! Dubai is all set to host a new cycling event this November. ‘Dubai Ride’ will be held on Sheikh Zayed Road on November 20. The free-to-enter community event is part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2020. Cyclists of all abilities and experiences can participate in the event.

Participants Can Pick From Two Routes Across Dubai

Get ready to ride through Dubai in an outdoor bike ride while experiencing sights across DWTC, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay and Dubai Canal. The event is part of Dubai’s Fitness Challenge and is free for all to participate and will feature two distinct routes- a 4 km family ride and a 14 km open ride. The 4 km ride is open for participants aged five years and above. The route will take riders around Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, offering plenty of photo opportunities.

The 14 km route is open for cycling enthusiasts who are 13 years of age or older. The route will take you on a one-of-a-kind nike ride through Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Dubai Canal and Sheikh Zayed Road. All cyclists must be able to cycle a minimum of 4 km and must bring their own biking gears.

For Dubai run, the entire city becomes a running track. Citizens from all age groups, abilities and fitness levels, giving everyone new reasons to join the flagship fitness movement. If you are looking for some training before the run, then you can enrol in training programmes that have been curated by some of the emirate’s leading professional coaches and athletes. Coaches include Manal Rostom, Tania Lolla Kaddoura, Abdullah bin Hajjar, Luke Mathews, Lee Ryan and Luke Gaffney.
