However, a temple in Telangana has taken things a notch higher by decorating the Goddess with origami flowers made of currency notes valued at more than ₹1 crore currency notes. As a part of the Dussehra festivities, the Kanyaka Parameswari Goddess temple made this substantial offering to the Goddess amid an unprecedented economic downturn during the coronavirus pandemic.

₹1.1 Crore Currency Notes Used To Decorate The Idol
They used neatly folded currency notes of different colours to create garlands and bouquets valued at ₹1.1 crores. The notes have used to dress the Goddess in the Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari temple in Telangana’s Gadwal. The temple is 180 km south of Hyderabad. You will be shocked to know that last year the Goddess was dressed in currency notes worth ₹3,33,33,333 at the temple. The currency notes used this year were low due to the pandemic.
Offering The Goddess With Currency Notes Is A Yearly Ritual
Sure the gift may seem excessive amid the pandemic. The trends show that there is nothing unusual about offering jewellery and currency notes to the Goddess. The money is a contribution from the devotees in the local community. However, it is returned to them after the puja. This year, 40 to 50 people contributed towards the unique decorations.
