French Astronaut Celebrates 20 Years Of Palm Jumeirah By Sharing Pictures Taken From Space

Dubai is known for many iconic sites, and one of them has to be Palm Jumeriah. The construction of Palm Jumeriah Began in 2001, and the year 2021 officially marks the 20 years of Palm Jumeriah. And to mark the 20 years of Palm, a French astronaut shared pictures of Palm Jumeriah from space. Read on to know more.

French Astronaut Shares Pictures Of Palm Jumeriah From Space

Thomas Pesquet, a European Space Agency astronaut currently onboard the International Space Station, tweeted two pictures of the Palm Jumeriah taken from the Space. He is on a six-month mission named Alpha. This mission also makes him the French commander of the space station in a month-long stint.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote, when you see those palm trees from space, you know you are looking at Dubai. Well, that’s not it! He even gave us a hint about the French Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020. He wrote,

“100 days until the World Expo opens there. The French pavilion is set to be on point, I might be involved in some way #MissionAlpha.”

Dubai Expo 2020 Is All Set To Begin In October 

In terms of the mission, it includes four spacewalks and more than 230 experiments. In an interview with France 24, he said,

“We are going to study mini-brains, stem cells – we can’t yet imagine the applications that that can have.Much of the work will involve preparations for the next stage of space exploration, which takes on more importance every day. It’s a way to practise our scales to work our way towards the Moon, towards Mars.”

Well, we are super excited to see what French Pavillion at Dubai Expo has for us. In terms of the Expo, it will begin in October and will go on till March 2022. The entry ticket for the same will be AED 25.
