Recently, Conosh hosted an interactive masterclass at Trident in Hyderabad featuring chefs Saransh Goila and Gary Mehigan. The “Indian Stories with Gary and Friends” series includes the Conosh workshop. The series also included a seven-course pop-up dinner with fine beverages. After the workshop, before bidding adieu to India, Gary visited the streets of Madurai to try some delicious street food like dosai, vadai, and more!

Chef Gary Mehigan Relishes Madurai’s Street Food

Before bidding adieu to India, celebrity chef Gary Mehigan made sure he tried some of the most famous dishes of the country. So, where did he head to? No, not to any fancy restaurant, but to Madurai’s streets.

The first snack that he tried was the Special Ravai Dosai (semolina pancake) at Meenakshi Bhavan. He loved the crispy dosais as they were torn into small chunks and dipped into the heavenly chutney.

Next, he visited a food cart near Sarveswarar Temple and called this recommendation great. He tried Mullu Murungai Vadai, which are basically puris made out of rice and Murungai leaves. It was served with chilli powder and pepper. Gary then tried Raagi or semolina vadai, which were sweet and had small pieces of onions.
