When we think of Himachal Pradesh, the one thing that comes to mind is that it’s a great tourist destination. And this state is ready with the budget for fiscal 2023. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is presenting it in the state’s assembly and stating the key points that will be beneficial for the state. But do you know that they are planning to make Kangra the tourism capital? And not to mention the subsidy on purchasing an electric scooter. Here are the highlights of the Himachal Pradesh Budget 2023 that you need to know!

Kangra: The Tourism Capital Of Himachal Pradesh

During the budget presentation, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh stated that Kangra will be developed as the state’s tourism capital. This will help boost tourism and 12 other states will be connected to it via helicopter facility within the next year. The place is one of the largest regions of the state and was home to the Katoch Dynasty, The valleys offer a picturesque view of the Dauladhar Ranges.

The main attraction of this place is the Kangra Fort — a massive, historically significant and charming architecture that lurks atop the flat mountain ranges! Second is the Masroor Rock-cut Temples. It is a rare monolithic rock-cut temple dating back to the eighth century AD. Other attractions that the place is known for include Maharana Pratap Sagar, Pragpur, Jwalamukhi — a popular pilgrimage site, Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple and more! Introducing Kangra as the tourism capital may be beneficial for the state.

Subsidy For Purchasing Electric Vehicle

The Chief Minister stated that they will aim to become an ideal state for electric vehicles. They plan on introducing electric vehicles and reducing the use and dependence on fuel-based vehicles. This includes the replacement of 1,500 buses that run on diesel. Moreover, they are planning to introduce a subsidy of ₹25,000 on the purchase of electric scooters. These electric vehicles will help the state to reduce its dependence on fuels like petrol and diesel. And help towards sustainable development.

Besides this, the budget focuses on improving the healthcare sector and upgrading the facilities provided in the hospitals.
