  • 4 out of these 8 projects are about irrigation and water supply, according to the press release of the Press Information Bureau. PM Modi asked to organise visits for stakeholders to places where ‘successful Rehabilitation and Reconstruction work has been done’. They also need to represent the major impact of these new projects as these have the potential to influence the stakeholders to execute the plans and projects at the earliest.
  • In another important point, the prime minister suggested the stakeholders appoint some nodal officers while working in high population-density urban places. The appointing of nodal officers is to create teams and work accordingly for enhanced coordination.
  • 2 projects are related to the expansion of National highways and connectivity.
  • The next 2 are concerning rail and metro rail connectivity.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reviewed the Mobile Towers and 4G Coverage falling under Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) Projects. This is looking after ensuring mobile connectivity of 24,149 mobile towers in 33,573 villages.
  • During the meeting, the prime minister advised about the installations and proper setup of mobile towers in all the uncovered villages. Also, this needs to be done in this financial year itself. Also, proper meetings with the stakeholders are also advised by PM Modi. One key aspect of this project is to saturate mobile coverage even in the most remote places.
