Here Is What Navi Mumbaikars Can Expect:
1. Golf Course
TThe 9-hole golf course, Kharghar Valley Golf Course, will soon be expanded into an 18-hole golf course. The work will be completed in 2023 and will be a major tourist attraction, for sure.
2. New Navi Mumbai Airport
The work at Navi Mumbai Airport is in full swing, as a lot of the major work has been completed already. With land acquisition, rehabilitation, land development work, the diversion of the Ulwe River, and other such work being completed, the airport will surely meet its December 2024 target.
3. Mass Housing Scheme
CIDCO has come up with a flagship mass housing scheme for the low-income group (LIG) and the economically weaker section (EWS) in the city. This month, about 7,849 flats will be allotted to EWS at Ulwe. The ground-plus-twelve-floor structures of the mega township are constructed by L&T.

4. Water Taxi Service
A special multipurpose jetty at Nerul will be soon operational. Water taxi services will be operated by the Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) between Ferry Wharf in South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai soon. The work on the Nerul Passenger Water Terminal is also complete.
5. Sustainable NAINA
The work toward future sustainable development in the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) has already begun. The draft plan for TPS 2 to TPS 7 is ready, and TPS 7 to TPS 12 will be ready soon for all the Navi Mumbaikars.
6. Navi Mumbai Metro
Between Central Park and Belapur stations, the Navi-Mumbai Metro Project’s Line 1’s trial run of the Metro was successfully completed. This indicates that Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 will soon be operational in the city.
Other Developments
The International Corporate Park (ICP) project at Kharghar will also be completed in the coming years. Two bridges will be built as part of the Thane Creek expansion project to alleviate traffic congestion. The multi-lane expansion of the Sion-Panvel highway to the Mumbai-Pune motorway will soon also hit the city.
